Our Approach to Social Media

ECU – A Division of WFCU Credit Union is a member-owned, community-based credit union. We want to be an organization that develops community value through everything we do. We want to engage with people about issues that matter to them. We want to focus upon areas that make a positive impact in our community.

Your feedback helps to direct us. Social media channels are one great way for us to have these conversations, so tune in with us on Facebook, Instagram, Linked In and YouTube.

ECU – A Division of WFCU Credit Union upholds everyone’s right to privacy online, and our employees adhere to strict confidentiality policies and procedures. We will never discuss a member’s personal transactions or account information online, and will instead, direct our members to communicate directly with a staff member to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of their information. Please visit our Online Privacy Policy page for more info.

We hope you’ll meet us online to let us know what’s going on in your world, and how the work we do as a member-owned financial institution can assist you and your family. We would also encourage members to let us know when we’ve done well or when you have a complaint or suggestion for improvement. Likewise, ECU will let you know what we’re up to, we’ll keep you posted on the latest information and news, and we’ll improve upon our service through your input. We look forward to hearing from you!

Plan your back-to-school purchases with your child before hitting the stores. Involving your kids in the creation of shopping lists and coming up with a budget is one great way to teach your child about retail temptation.

Review what items you already have, make a list of the essentials together and show them the importance of sticking to a plan.

Yes, you may offer a compromise to your child (who will inevitably ask for a new toy when out shopping). If they see something they like, take a picture or make a note with them. If they still want or say they need it in a month, reconsider making the purchase. It may even be on sale by then! This teaches them to avoid impulse buying.

While many post-secondary students in Ontario have the opportunity for renewable grade-related entrance scholarships, there are thousands of dollars in scholarships available with the click of a button or submission of a 500-word essay.

Working on these applications together with your child allows them to feel well-supported as they embark on this next phase of their life, especially if your family may not be financially able to allot large amounts for tuition and other post-secondary expenses every few months.
