Position Name

Branch Manager, Sales and Service

Position Description

As a Branch Manager, Sales and Service you will provide leadership to ensure the implementation of our financial growth strategies. Our Branch Manager, Sales and Service plays a critical role in the daily operations of our retail locations with respect to quality, sales and member service.

In summary, the Branch Manager, Sales and Service will:

  • Report to the Director, Retail Services.
  • Meet required sales goals as established by the credit union.
  • Monitor weekly, monthly and semi-annual sales plans.
  • Meet with members to assess their needs and match products/services to meet their needs.
  • Meet with employees regularly to mentor and to coach staff in their development.
  • Demonstrate exceptional professionalism and confidentiality.

As the successful candidate, you’ll have responsibility for:

  • Overall responsibility for the retail location including risk management and the premises.
  • Provide basic financial planning and investment advice to our members.
  • Preparing personal lending and residential mortgages and/or membership contracts.
  • Adhering to and complying with established policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Operating with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications Required

The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for are:

  • A solid knowledge of financial products and services.
  • Post-secondary education with a minimum of three years of managerial experience.
  • Professional team player with the ability to successfully motivate a team to achieve sales goals.

These additional skills are considered assets too:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven success in a sales environment.

Position Name

Director, Compliance

Position Description

In the role of Director, Compliance, you will be directly responsible for leading the anti-money laundering (AML) compliance team in order to administer the credit union’s compliance program.  This responsibility must be met in an efficient, effective and risk-based fashion that complies with applicable laws and regulations.

In summary, the Director, Compliance will:

  • Act as the Compliance Officer and Sanctions Officer
  • Manage the compliance team
  • Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the credit union to ensure continuous improvement, continued relevance and applicability in an ever-changing environment
  • Establish and plan strategic priorities
  • Review adherences to existing laws and regulations and proactively monitor changes in legislation
  • Work directly with FINTRAC, FACTA, CRS, CASL, the Privacy Act and other relevant legislative frameworks
  • Provide advice and recommendations on corporate projects and new initiatives related to non-traditional lines of business

Qualifications Required

The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for are:

  • Completed post-secondary education
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working in AML compliance or law
  • CAMS certification
  • A strong knowledge of all levels of compliance (operational, tactical and strategic); FINTRAC rules and regulations and the ability to interpret the regulations
  • Experience in the risk rating assessments of products and service
  • Experience working with regulators
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills
  • Effective people management skills as attested by a minimum of 5 years experience in directly managing people or teams
  • Excellent writing and communication skills

These additional skills are considered assets too:

  • A CPA, CFA or LLB designation
